Loading Up Before Work

There are usually a couple days of the week where I need to work an eight hour shift. The workplace is usually full of snack food temptations for the workers. My goal is to arrive to work fully satiated and to bring a snack and hydration along for my break.

I recently purchased some 100% grass-fed beef from Costco, so this morning I cooked 3 patties, two for the fridge, and one for my lunch. I added half an avocado, which by some miracle was ripe today, plus a little pile of Famous Dave’s (no relation) pickles, and a Chobani yogurt.

The macros for this little pile of food are pretty decent: 600 calories, 37 grams of protein, and 22 grams of carbs. Plus whatever the pickles add. If I get to the point of counting pickles, shoot me.

Overall, very tasty, quick to prepare, and good for me, too.

I’ll take a baggie of baby carrots and a Fairlife protein drink to work. The trick for me is to not eat much when I get home at 9:00pm. I try to keep any snacking to basic proteins - so this evening, there is one chicken leg left in the fridge that may not survive the night.
