Year 2 of Carnivore

2025 represents the start of my second full year of following a carnivore diet. And today was Costco shopping day, which usually means a resupply of protein. I ended up getting a big pack of sirloin and a big pack of round steak. As usual, I vacuum seal into smaller packages for later use. This is a little over 9 pounds, probably around a dozen meals, and only $60.

I’m not sure what Michigan decided to do to the egg market, but even the Costco prices have crept up a bit. Maybe the state is now providing free health care for the hens or something? Hanging in there at $3.50/dozen for regular eggs or $4.00/dozen for the brown eggs. That represents about an 8% increase over the last month.

Aside from beef and eggs, I am currently rotating in salmon, mahi or tuna a few days a week, and for January - I am trying to leave cheese and nuts off the menu. I’ve been holding steady since May 2024 between 145 - 150 pounds (currently at the upper end). It sort of feels like Winter biology creates an urge to add calories. More importantly, I feel healthy and am at ease with how carnivore works for me. The routine for shopping, preparing and eating the nutrients I need is second nature now.
