BYOD Fitness

May 14, 2025 by David Snodgrass

Every now and then I feel compelled to add something new to my weekly list of stuff. I had been meaning to lift more weights or something that would add or at least maintain muscle fitness. I have no interest in joining a gym, but I do have time (and space) to do something at home.

I had seen several videos from a trainer online specifically for athletes with knee issues. Currently, I have no knee pain, but would like to avoid any future injuries. Maintaining mobility is super important. The guy (Ben Patrick) is called KneesOverToesGuy, and not only provides a lot of information, he also provided dimensions for an angled ramp for training. Build Your Own Device! I had a spare piece of 3/4 inch plywood (24” x 24”) and cut all the parts from that small scrap. I added some paint and grippy tape from Home Depot.

This is a post from Ben that explains the rationale: X Post

Looks pretty good. Actual cost - $17 for the grippy tape. I think the combination of lower leg strength and flexibility this ramp will facilitate will be a easy addition to my routine.
